A Unique College System
CUHK is home to Hong Kong's only college system. Our four constituent colleges are Chung Chi, New Asia, United and Shaw. All full-time undergraduates can apply for affiliation with one of the colleges.

Colleges are congenial communities with their own hostels, dining halls and other facilities. Students will receive pastoral care and whole-person education, including formal and non-formal general education. They can also interact closely with teachers and peers. Staff affiliated with colleges enjoy incentive for research. Colleges are active promoters of culture. They are also witnesses to some of the most memorable discussions and lasting friendships.

College Activities
Colleges offer students different palettes with which to colour their campus life. Besides overseas exchange and student visitor programmes, there are seminars, community service programmes, and training in languages, IT, leadership, culture, and physical fitness. Extracurricular activities are also organized by the college student unions.

'My College gave me the chance to study at Yale. Every year about 100 Chung Chi (CC) students go on summer exchange to different universities. At CC all students get the chance to go abroad. The CC spirit is characterized by unity and harmony. At inter-hostel contests, we always have the most enthusiastic supporters. Our weekly assemblies are always well attended.'
 Caroline Tsoi
2006 Graduate of Business Administration

'I am very glad to have my three-year university life in New Asia College. In year 1, I joined the New Asia Drama Club and performed in the Inter-College Drama Competition. In year 2, I held different College functions such as the solemn biweekly assembly. I was touched by the vigorous atmosphere of the exchange student welcoming dinner... The most unforgettable thing was my hostel life in which I made many good friends. I hope all students would actively participate in College activities and make their experience in this University a fruitful one.'
 Wang Guan
2007 Graduate of Anthropology

'United College has beautiful lawns where students like to sit and chat, or read. Sometimes we even have classes there. Chan Chun Ha Hostel has many non-local and exchange students. I appreciate the freedom and exposure this diversity brings. The overseas students would show us how they do things back home, for example, how they celebrate Halloween.'
 Viona Au Yeung
2006 Graduate of Translation
Recipient of United College's S. Leung Postgraduate Scholarship

'I think Shaw College, although the youngest among the four Colleges, has its own characteristics. The four large student activities in Shaw, including Shawlane, Celebration of Shaw College, Shaw Singing Contest and Orientation Camp, show the originality of Shaw students. The life in hostel is also very interesting. When I was a year 1 student, all the hostel members left their doors open on the floor I lived, a way to always stay closely together.'

New Colleges
New colleges will join the CUHK family in not too distant future, including Morningside College, S.H. Ho College, C.W. Chu College, Wu Yee Sun College and Lee Woo Sing College. They will further enhance diversity and choice on campus.
